Anorexia Consecuencias de la

Not sure what Anorexia Consecuencias de la means but it is clear that eating disorders are a world wide problem. Although there are many more diagnosed cases in the western countries, eating disorders are known world wide. Until about thirty years ago there was not much information on anorexia and other eating disorders. Scientists realized it was a much bigger problem than they thought so they began doing more studies on the diseases. There have been over 8 million cases of diagnosed eating disorders with at least one million of them being male. Some people are surprised at the number of men and boys with eating disorders but it makes sense because they have stress, peer pressure and other problems just like girls and women do. There are now treatment centers and support groups to help people who have anorexia or other eating disorders. The anorexia disease has increased tremendously in the past thirty years. It is strongly believed the reason for this is the society we live in. There is pressure to lose weight and some feel that they have to look like the skinny models, actresses, actors, athletes, and other celebrities. There is a lot of stress put on thinness and now that there are a lot of overweight people in the world, there is even more pressure to lose weight. However, everyone needs to be aware that it is just as dangerous to your health to be extremely underweight as to be too much overweight. There is a chance of severe damage done to every vital organ in the body when there is a severe case of anorexia. Some of the damage may not be reversed or repaired. The sooner the victim gets help the sooner they can be diagnosed and begin treatment.

Treatment for anorexia is a long slow process because the treatment has to be slow in order to repair the damage to the body and to regain the weight that has been lost. It is not safe to gain weight fast because there can also be dangers there. The body can not cope with the stress of losing or gaining weight too fast. There is also a need for psychological treatment because the cause of the anorexia has to be dealt with. It has to be determined what caused the onset of anorexia in the first place. If that factor is not dealt with the anorexia can not be fixed. The victim has to have psychiatric help so they can learn how to feel better about themselves and realize that they are important too. Low self esteem and peer pressure are two of the main causes of anorexia. Mix it with genetics, society, possible abuse, and you have a very dangerous mixture. Not everyone suffers from the same factors but everyone with eating disorders have at least one or more of them.
