Depression Guide Relieve Suffering Through Yoga Some people try to relieve their suffering from depression through Yoga. There is a guide you can purchase about how to relieve your suffering through Yoga. It can probably be found in bookstores and it can be found online. There are other books available also. It is believed by some that yoga can be better than taking antidepressants because they say it relieves you of the symptoms you are having with your depression. If you are having symptoms of depression or have been diagnosed with depression it might be a good thing to talk to your doctor first before you try to ‘cure’ yourself. You might want to do some research before you rely on yoga to get you through such a serious period in your life. Those around you are suffering too and may be in danger if you decide to hurt yourself or someone else. Yoga may not be able to stop you from doing something you may regret later. On the other hand, it may be great for some. Do the research to find out as much as you can about the treatments for depression and the success of the different treatments. What works for some may not work for you. That is why it sometimes takes a doctor a while to get the right prescription medication for you. There is no cure for depression but there is a way to control it. There are several types of depression. Some people suffer from mild cases of depression that may only last a week or two while others suffer with it for months or years. Some of the symptoms of depression include feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, guilt, lack of energy and tired a lot, lack of interest in activities or hobbies you usually love, change in appetite, weight, or sleep habits, low self esteem, thoughts of death or suicide. If you are having one or more of these symptoms, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor so they can diagnose your problem and get you started on a treatment which will work for you. If you do not like to take prescription drugs, there are alternative medications you might want to talk to your doctor about. Many people prefer the alternative medications as opposed to prescription drugs. If you are one of those, talk to your doctor about it. There are several alternative medications available that may help you. About 18% of all Americans suffer from some form of depression so it is not shameful to admit that you are suffering from depression. Depression is thought to be caused from a chemical imbalance in the brain and different events in one’s life brings on the onset of depression.
