Ephedra For Sale You may have trouble finding ephedra for sale on the market today in the United States. Ephedra was banned in the United States for the second in October, 2006. Ephedra has been used for over 5,000 years by the Chinese and for many years by the Native Americans, Mexicans, and Mormons for medicinal purposes. The Chinese used it for lung illnesses. Ephedra has been found to be dangerous for many to use and the Food and Drug Administration has received many reports of serious illnesses such as strokes , heart attacks, and even death from the use of products containing ephedra. In all of the reports of different products used, ephedra was the connecting ingredient. Ephedra was the only ingredient in all of the products. Ephedra can be a lethal mix when added to aspirin (willow bark, salicytes, salicylic acid) or caffeine (kola nut, guarana, cocoa extract) and some of the products contained one of both of these as well as ephedra. Ephedra is also known as Ma Huang, Herbal Ecstasy, Chinese Ephedra, Mormon Tea, Squaw Tea, Desert Tea, and Epitonin. It is possible that sometimes people do not know what all of the ingredients are so they do not know the dangers until it is too late for them. There have been reports of strokes, heart attacks, rapid heart beat, irregular heart beat, seizures, insomnia, anxiety, nervousness, tremors, high blood pressure, itching, hives, nausea, vomiting, allergies, psychosis, death and more. Ephedra was banned in the United States for the first time in 2003 but some people and the court did not feel there was enough evidence to prove that ephedra was as dangerous as the FDA claimed it was. The ban on ephedra was lifted in 2005 so the FDA compiled more information and more reports of hospital emergencies from some who used as little as 8 mg of ephedra per dose. So Ephedra was banned again in October, 2006. Many of the products which contained ephedra have replaced it with other ingredients and some products have been discontinued. You may still be able to get ephedra products in other countries but it is not supposed to be available in the United States. Ephedra has been used for asthma, congested bronchial tubes, congested lungs, congested sinuses, cough, common colds, fever, to stop sweating associated with an illness, as a weight loss aid, as an energy booster, as a sports performance booster, and more. Many people have been compensated for their injuries from ephedra products and if you have suffered from a serious injury or have lost a family member because of an ephedra product, you may be entitled to some compensation. Discuss it with a good lawyer in your area. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
