Amy was born in Southgate community in Enfield, London. Her father is a taxi driver and her mother is a pharmacist. Her current record label is Island/Universal which is under the management of Simon Fuller’s Management Company. Amy’s song “Rehab” gives one the impression that she is someone who needs help but is unsure about how to get it or if she really wants it. Her song is about how her dad and friends are trying to convince her to go to rehab and how she is trying to convince herself because she doesn’t want to drink anymore. There are a lot of pressures on a young star and sometimes they are not strong enough to cope with life as it is when you become a star. Look at the following lyrics and see how one could think that this is a girl who is begging for help. Some of the lyrics to Amy’s song “Rehab”are: They tried to make me go to rehab I said no, no, no Yes, I been black, but when I come back You won’t know, know, know. I ain’t got the time And if my daddy thinks I’m fine He’s tried to make me go to rehab I won’t go, go, go. I’m tryin’ to make me go to rehab I said no, no, no Yes I been black, but when I come back You won’t know, know, know. I don’t ever wanna drink again I just, ooo, I just need a friend I’m not gonna spend 10 weeks Have everyone think I’m on the mend. All Text Copyright © Safety2005.org |
